Megan Marlene

Special guest

Megan’s love of music is firmly rooted. From her upbringing on a small family farm in Eastern Kansas with Daddy playing guitar, Grandpa on harmonica, Great Uncle rattling the bones, and stories of Grandma and Great Aunt singing and playing on stages in the 1920s and 30s, she was immersed in music from an early age.

Megan started her musical journey on the piano and gradually gravitated back to her roots, tinkering on the mandolin and fiddle before finding her true love on guitar. Recently coming into her own sound and finding her stage style has opened new possibilities and opportunities for this budding artist. She credits her motivation for performing and renewed inspiration for writing to the incredible support of the local music community in Oklahoma City, her current home.

Singer/songwriter Megan Marlene will grip your heart with a moving and sorrowful ballad, then have you grinning and toes tappin’ with a lighthearted, cheerful melody. Drawing inspiration from bluegrass, country, indie, classic rock, Americana, and folk, Megan’s unique style is a blend of finger-picking guitar and soulful lyrics.

Megan is currently in the studio working on her first album. The album, which is currently still untitled, will include at least 8 new songs written by Megan and is set to be released in 2021.

Megan Marlene has been a guest on 3 episodes.
